Volunteer Program

How the Volunteer Program Works

If you do volunteer work of any kind, whether by delivering Meals on Wheels, supporting your church's festival or bake sale or helping out at the Salvation Army or Red Cross, your time may qualify you for a Volunteer Program grant from the Alliant Energy Foundation. Just track your hours and then submit an application.

Volunteer Program guidelines

How to participate

With our new online giving system, located at aegivesback.com, you can log your volunteer hours anytime and request your volunteer grant from January 1-31.

In 2018 and beyond, volunteer grants will be based on a 12-month calendar year (January 1 through December 31). For 2017, grant payments were paid as usual based on the hours you volunteered between July 1, 2016, and June 30, 2017. However, in order to accommodate the timing of our new system, grant payments will be made again in February 2018 for hours recorded July 1 – December 31, 2017, based upon the adjusted schedule below. In 2018, we will return to the standard 12-month payout amounts.
